It's Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Shiela @ book journey -- where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.
I have finished reading several novels this week but have been too busy to post some sort of reviews -- including feeling lazy and tired all the time!
Reading the BRIDE ASSIGNMENT by Leigh Michaels was more of a curiousity for me knowing th author is my current teacher. I bought it from Amazon and read for the entire night. The story was ordinary but the writing was good with some intriguing parts toward the end, enough to make my evening entertained.
SAVOR THE MOMENT by Nora Roberts was something I've been waiting to read for awhile now and finally I've started reading this past Tuesday. I love the story of Laurel but wasn't much impressed with the Hero (Del). Roberts' unique voice and detailed descriptions are as usual the selling point for me. I can't wait for the next novel about Parker's story...
And because I'm such a big fan of NR, I started reading the NIGHT SHIFT by Nora Roberts, the first book in the Night Tales. I love the story about Cilla O'Roarke, a radio deejay during a night radio show. She has a stalker and police detective Boyd Fletcher came to her rescue -- to help solve the mystery and eventually falls for Cilla.
I skipped the NIGHT SHADOW because honestly I wasn't impressed with the characters on the first few chapters and didn't feel the Roberts kind of magic I quickly decided to move on to NIGHTSHADE.
WHAT I'M READING THIS WEEK...
I am currently finishing NIGHTSHADE by Nora Roberts and then I'll continue with NIGHT SMOKE, yet another Night Tales story. I look forward reading this because the heroine is Boyd's sister (Natalie). Boyd Fletcher is from the first book the NIGHT SHIFT.
I also plan on reading another three classic mysterious novels by Nora Roberts -- THIS MAGIC MOMENT, SEARCH FOR LOVE, and THE RIGHT PATH.
If I get lucky I should finish the week with Shana Abe's THE DREAM THIEF.
Wow, Natalie! You're just gobbling up all of NR's books! You'll catch up with her backlist in no time at all. :)
ReplyDeleteI remember the first Nora Robert's book I picked up and devoured and then went to the library and got as many of her other books as I could. The book was Honest Illusions. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hils. I should have used a title post about "Nora Roberts for the month of May" ;-) I really like her writing style. I'm all NR this month for sure.
ReplyDeleteHi Nise, I haven't read that book Honest Illusions. I'll dig up my collections and see if I have it.
