Titan Stories (The Lone Sisters Adventures Series)

UNDER HER SKIN (Book 1)

Lexi Titan – the eldest of the Titan sisters, is faced with exactly thirty days to come up with two million dollars, or she is out of options. Either she marry Cruz Rodriguez or lose everything – the successful day spa she built herself, her tyrant of a father’s respect, and the long- standing competition with her sisters for the family business.

Cruz has money, success, smoldering good looks – everything but the blue blood needed to become a true member of Texas society. If Lexi agrees to be his fiancĂ©e for six months, lending him her famous father’s influence and connections, he’ll hand her a check on the spot. And in six months they’ll go their separate ways.

LIP SERVICE (Book 2)

Skye Titan’s wealthy father thinks he can still dictate his daughter’s choice in men. Now widowed and a single mother, Skye isn’t the yes-girl she once was. Especially since the love of her life is back in Texas after eight long years. He won’t like the answers to the questions he’s asking. About why she left him at the altar. And about her eight-year-old daughter.

Former Navy SEAL Mitch Cassidy comes home to find nearly everything different. His wounds from the battle have changed the way people treat him. His cattle ranch is suddenly organic. But time hasn’t touched his desire for Skye – or the sting of her betrayal. Forget lip service. He’s asking that luscious mouth of hers to reveal the truth.

STRAIGHT FROM THE HIP (Book 3)

Izzy has always been the fearless Titan sister and the youngest of the three. But when an oil rig blows up, leaving her barely able to see, her sisters find themselves as concerned by her emotional withdrawal as by the possibility that the explosion was no accident. Are the mind games their long-lost brother Garth has been playing turning physical? Or is someone else out to get them?

When her sisters enroll her in a survivor training camp, Izzy is not happy. Nick, her instructor, is determined that she won’t be left in the dark. In more ways than one. But if he tells her the terrible truth behind why he’s helping her, he’ll never see her again. Unless they’re both willing to take the biggest risk of all.

HOT ON HER HEELS (Book 4)

Dana Birch vowed never to put herself at the mercy of a powerful man. She became a deputy so that she could take care of herself and protect those she loves. Especially her best friends, the Titan sisters.

Twenty years ago, Garth Duncan swore revenge on Jed Titan for abandoning Garth and his mother. Now he’s back to fulfill that promise, even if Jed’s daughters get caught in the crosshairs. All that stands between him and his goal is Dana, her gun and a growing passion that can’t be denied.

MY THOUGHTS:

Book 1: An arranged relationship between the hero and the heroine to solve a specific problem is a known story for Harlequin novels. But this book is beyond that. It also deals with relationship between father and daughter as well as between sisters, the courage to survive in the midst of rivalry, emotional journey, and the importance of friendship. The opening chapter deals directly with the current issue and that intrigues me. The author shows not only the power of love between two strangers, but also paints a beginning for an entertaining series. She also builds the character of Skye in preparation for book 2.

Book 2: In this book, Skye’s character feels weak for me, although the story of Mitch is more interesting, knowing he comes home with physical injury and faces Skye, the love of his life and her daughter. There are some detailed hot scenes in few interesting places. Not really my favorite book, but the ending is enough to my satisfaction.

Book 3: I love Izzy’s character. She’s fearless and stubborn and she fights with Nick. Nick’s character is also very interesting. He has a dark secret from the past that connects with Garth and that in itself hooks my attention. But there is more to the back and forth stubborn fight between the hero and the heroine. I love how the author portrays Izzy’s character in the midst of her disability and the courage to face life’s reality. The story is very encouraging and I recommend this book to anyone who wants to be inspired, anyone who’s losing confidence in life, or to anyone curious enough to read about surviving from losing sight.

Book 4: I had a hard time starting this book because of Garth. Since book 1, the ugly side of Garth was established, going against the Titan family. But I was glad I continued reading because the story did not disappoint me. I learned to like Garth after knowing more about his past and about his mother. I learned to accept Garth after hearing his voice through the magical words painted by the author. I learned to accept that Garth isn’t that evil after all, if you’d only give him the chance to be part of the family and to show him what it’s like to love and to be loved. I also enjoy Dana’s character. Although there were times the narration and dialogue became repetitive, I still love her attitude and her strength toward the sisters and toward Garth. The love scenes were hot and enjoyable; the choices of words the author used were melodious. After reading this book, I became a 100% fan of Susan Mallery.

In Summary: I enjoyed each of the books in the series and I will not hesitate to read another novel by Mallery. These were first reads for me from the author and surely not the last.

Most of all, I give my thanks to Hilcia from Impressions of a Reader blog  for sharing me these wonderful books (and two others I haven't read yet), and showing me that there are more authors I’d surely enjoy (besides NR). Thanks again.

Betrayal in Death (Book 13) by J.D. Robb

From Amazon:
Link Here

When Darlene French, a maid at the Roarke Palace Hotel, is brutally beaten, raped, and strangled with a silver wire, Eve is at a loss to explain the apparently professional nature of the murder. Who would hire a hit man to kill such an ordinary woman? As she and her team of detectives (with a little grudgingly accepted help from Roarke, whose money, name, and talents can dig up a wealth of information) investigate the evidence, they find themselves in pursuit of Sylvester Yost, a vicious hired gun who's made millions in his bloody pursuit of career excellence. But it isn't until more victims appear that Eve realizes Yost's real target is Roarke himself. To discover the driving force behind the murderous campaign, Eve and Roarke will have to delve into their own pasts, which holds secrets and terrors for them both.
My Thoughts:
      I was looking forward reading this novel because of Lori's recommendation in her blog and because I am in love with the main characters (Eve and Roarke). I was only on the first chapter and I was hooked, I had a hard time putting it down like a mug of white chocolate mocha I was addicted. Who wouldn't be when the story takes you right into the main course with Eve and Roarke the center of it all? The title "Betrayal" is also an attention grabber as the crime links to a certain relationship with the main characters. Of course the enigmatic romance between Eve and Roarke continues to ignite fire and excitement; the craft in details never cease to amaze me. Their relationship as husband and wife is once again tested in this novel, the test of love, the test of trust and cooperation. The presence of Mick (Roarke's close friend from Dublin) and Summerset (Roarke's buttler and like a father to him) add spices into the mix. Peabody and McNabb -- I still love them, especially when they face certain road blocks in their growing relationship. Sly's (Sylvester Yost) style of murder was vivid I felt I was there witnessing his acts, his endless lust and satisfaction. Oh yes, I wished him dead too – he was the wild animal in the jungle – very ugly animal. The "Who is the killer?" part of the mystery is made obvious from the start showing Sly attacking the victims. It is the act of betrayal that keeps the suspense building up: {who betrays who" and "why do it" questions are eventually revealed toward the last chapter.

Betrayal in death is definitely one of my favorites by J.D. Robb and I surely recommend this to anyone interested in romantic suspense and an unforgettable work of art. I promised myself to reread this book again sometime in the near future.

Friends from the bloggosphere and world of books...
TODAY is the release date of Savor the Moment by Nora Roberts' book three in the Bride Quartet. I am just posting a reminder to get yourself a copy from you favorite stores.

I got mine earlier today as a loyal supporter of Robb...I meant Roberts. ;-)
I read the first two books --  Vision in White and Bed of Roses last year. I was entertained with Roberts' voice and now excited for the Romance of Laurel and Del, though I'd be happier if I could also read now the Happy Ever After story of Parker instead of waiting for November to come. SIGH...

Description from Amazon:

Friday 56: Strange Bedpersons

I found this meme from Laurel's blog hosted by Tonya at Storytime with Tonya and Friends and figured I'd give this meme a try.

Rules:

* Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog.
*Post a link along with your post back to this blog.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

FOR TODAY's SELECTION I thought of Jennifer Cruise's novel Strange Bedpersons I just finished reading last night. And since it was still in my bed stand I thought of sharing a part of this wonderfully written story of Romance between completely opposite characters -- Tess and Nick. So here's my Friday 56 for this week:

What he needed was a cross between Christine and Tess.
      He thought about being married to Tess and grinned. Of course, she'd have to get different clothes, and he'd have to get his housekeeper to come everyday to pick up after her, and she'd have to learn to shut up when it was politically necessary, but she'd also be around all the time, laughing, warming his life, warming his bed...

Hmmm...if I haven't read this yet, it would be kind of a mystery to me with the hero thinking about two different women in his life. But as I recall, Christine is Nick's secretary which could be his potential wife if she'd only develop some expression, she could easily be upgraded from a secretary to a wife. But of course she'd have to be a Morticia Addams without enthusiasm -- remember Morticia? -- the fictional matriarch of "The Addams Family". Then there's Tess the obviously herione of the story but was also the opposite person for Nick in both belief and outlook in life. She is a democrat and he's a republican -- go figure -- the fire burning between them is overflowing!

This novel was definitely a fast read and the dialogues are funny, sexy, and entertaining.

Lover Eternal and Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward

*      *       *       *       *
After a surprise introduction to the world and the black dagger brotherhood created by J.R. Ward through the first book in the series the “Dark Lover”, I did not waste time of moving on. I acquired the other five books and started reading the next two novels.

Lover Eternal, originally published in 2006 is about Rhage’s story – the vampire with the strongest appetite within the brotherhood, the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover – for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him.

Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships, is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant on Rhage’s protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. Her faith in miracles was lost years ago. But when Rhage’s intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves…

What I like about this novel is the imperfections of Rhage as a vampire warrior and Mary as a human that makes them both perfect for each other – an impeccable reminder of the Beauty and the Beast classic tale of love. As the name implies Rhage has so much rage in him – uncontrollable temper causing him to change into a deadly beast. But when Mary (a human) comes into his vampiric life Rhage’s beast is tamed under Mary’s voice and passion. Plenty of emotions are involved in the story I feel attached to what Mary is going through first as human scared of Rhage, then as a woman falling in love for Rhage. I even like this novel better than the first and read it much quicker. The paperback novel’s 440+ pages is definitely not to be alarmed for as it could definitely turns out into a quick and smooth read. There were many intimate moments but don’t let it fool you as well because the plot of the story is very strong and entertaining it’ll hook you right through its first page. And the title is also obvious I am sure it’ll make the story eternal in my head for a very long time.

Lover Awakened, the 3rd book in the series also published in 2006 is Zsadisht’s story – the former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society.

Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her…

Who would think I would read this book the night after spending with Lover Eternal. Crazy alright! – But inconvenient time couldn’t stop me from getting to know Zsadist and feeling sorry for his past. In this book the author (Ward) has victoriously made me pity for Z to the extent that I wouldn’t mind at all if how many Lessers he’d kill so just he’d feel relieved. Although there were several times I wanted to punch his face for pushing Bella away from him. Thank goodness for Bella’s persistent on her love for Z, it all turned out picture-perfect in the end. There is definitely a sadistic and animalistic way of portraying Zsadist as the main character but I kind of like him raw and stubborn – it drives the unconditional love of Bella for him and awakens Zsadist from a long nightmare of his past. There is a happy ending after all.

In Which I Finished Them All

Regardless of my demanding priorities and poor time management on my schedules lately I managed to read several novels I’ve been meaning to indulge myself into reading for quiet sometime now. I also realized my best reading hours fall into the time nearing midnight up to the wee hours in which I find it relaxing and more indulging. Here’s the list of what I’ve read so far in no particular order:

LAMENT (the faerie Queen’s deception) by Maggie Stiefvater

The story is about a 16-year old Deirdre Monaghan, a gifted harpist who can see faeries, hear their thoughts, possess certain magical abilities. Then she met Luke who happens to be another gifted musician in a mysterious way and later Dee finds out his connection to the Faerie Queen in which the intensity of her life’s adventure begins. What I love about this book is how the author convinces me to continue on reading after chapter one. It is the part that captures my interest in music through the lyrical words and the emotional tension Dee is experiencing on the stage together with Luke. The scenery and expressions are very touching I could almost hear them sing and play their instruments. I think that this novel is not only suitable for young adults but also for any other adults whose lives are touched not only by faerie stories but also by music of new age. If not for the recommendation of Christine and for loaning this book to me I would have not been able to experience the chance of such vibrant pleasure with the faeries. Thank you.

SOMETHING ABOUT YOU by Julie James

After reading James’ two previous novels – Just the Sexiest Man Alive and Practice Makes Perfect I had been excited waiting for her third and promising novel “Something About You” – so that early Tuesday morning I was ecstatic to get my hands on this novel at BN. And you know what? It was worth the trip because I loved it! The story is about two sworn enemies – a female lawyer Attorney Cameron Lynde and an FBI agent Jack Pallas when their paths met once again during a crime scene. The tension between the two characters is what makes the plot interesting in itself. Of course there’s always that sexual awareness and tension between the two but James has mastered her skills in creating a flirtatious scene into a masterpiece that pulls you all the way to the end of the story. The dialogues are hard to miss and the sophisticated romance it creates is memorable even after you move on to another book.

Lead Me On by Victoria Dahl

The story is about Jane Morgan who maintains a respectable yet boring life as an office manager trying to hide a rough childhood. Then she met William Chase and thus the romance begins – Chase with his tattoo-covered biceps and steel-toed boots reminds her of the past and pulls her into a fantasy-filled moments. There are many sexy-raw-steamy scenes in this novel in which the author could magnetize the reader into... – just like Her leading you on…If you’re not afraid of that kind of magnetic stuff then you should read the novel and see it for yourself.

WAKE by Lisa McMann

The very first novel I’ve read from this author got me into thinking of a dream catcher story by Stephen King or of the TV show “Medium”. It’s nothing like that actually as this young adult novel is about a seventeen-year old Janie getting sucked into other people’s dreams. And those strange moments could happen anytime anywhere she’s close to someone dreaming – like literary asleep dreaming. Some of those dreams haunt her when she met Cabel and became a participant in his dreams. Honestly, the young voice in the story sound believable to me even if the story is fictional and I think it’s because of how the author presents the story in present time – moment by moment events like you’re closely hearing the tic tac sound of a timer. The scenes are vivid it pulls the reader right into the mind of the characters. This book is first in the series and I just also got the Fade the second book. I look forward reading it. Thank you sister Diane for introducing me to McMann! (and Let's go Yankees...)

DARK LOVER by J.R. Ward

The last but not the least of my pleasurable moments is a Dark Lover the first in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I know, I’m so behind with this but it doesn’t matter at all as it wouldn’t take me long to catch up. This is because the novel about vampire story (although the theme has been used and overused for quite awhile) somehow brings unique and fresh thrill into an edgy and entertaining romance between Wrath the leader of the brotherhood and Beth Randall half-human-half-vampire. The sexual tension between the two is the important ingredient in the story filled with trust and love between brotherhood and how they survive against their slayers. What I like about this novel is Ward’s powerful voice injected into the story – its believable dialogues, vivid scenes and dangerous passion between Wrath and Beth. The novel is written in third person but I could see and feel right through each character’s mind and emotion. I also think that the conflict between vampires and slayers as well as between the brotherhood and Wrath are just icing on the cake because the love between our hero and his heroine is what the makes the story a bloody thrill and mesmirizing romance. This book was also loaned to me by Christine – I owe you a lot girl. Thanks.

SO what's next for me in bookblogging? I plan to switch into reading Scifi novel by Ann Aguirre starting with her first in the series “Grimspace” while continuing into the In Death Series by my very own favorite author – J.D. Robb – starting with Holiday in Death. This time I plan to concentrate into hearing the audio book alone I’ve recently borrowed from another friend. You know who you are – thank you.

XoXo,
Natalie

Vengeance in Death by J.D. Robb

*      *      *      *      *
Vengeance in Death – a suspense novel created by the brilliant mind of J.D. Robb surrounded with futuristic thriller splashed in a steamy romance between our two most beloved fiction characters – Eve and Roarke. As the title implies, the story is about revenge of a man they call Avenging Angel. He is a techno-savvy madman with the mind of a genius and the heart of a killer. He quietly stalks his prey. Then he haunts the police with cryptic riddles about the crimes he is about to commit – always solved moments too late to save the victims’ lives. Lieutenant Eve Dallas found the first victim butchered in his own home. The second lost his life in a vacant luxury apartment. The two men had little in common. Both suffered unspeakable torture before their deaths. And both had ties to an ugly secret of ten years past – a secret shared by none other than Eve’s husband, Roarke.

What makes this novel rise above the previous novels in the series is the new formula J.D. Robb injected into the story. It used to be the villain being introduced at the early part of the story imposing as a good character. This time the villain’s identity though mentioned in trivial parts throughout the story was never revealed at all as it remained a puzzle until toward the end chapters. Because of this carefully planned puzzle I was engrossed, determined to solve exactly how the story ends. I have learn the compassionate side of Eve – a cop who does not bend the law finds herself breaking the law for the love of her marriage – her love for Roarke. As much as I wanted to believe that the novel itself is a suspense story in its entirety I have to admit that Robb’s formula of love between Eve and Roarke is superior in the plot making it more appealing, irresistible, a page turner – a master piece.

A master piece = (Suspense (religion + revenge)) + (Romance ((Eve + Roarke)/love))

In this novel I have become more acquainted to Roarke’s past back in Ireland, an important part in the series I never had the opportunity to explore in the previous novels. Not to be too specific but I wanted to mention the emphasis on the famous phrase of “An eye for an eye” revenge might have been an old trick but somehow Robb managed to provide fresh and believable story as if it had never been told. It was the murder style that piques my curiosity having religion as an instrument for killing and in a young mind a dangerous mind molded into taking revenge. In Robb’s own way I am able to arrive to an ending with satisfaction and a sigh of relief – finally justice has been served –a life for a life.

+        +        +

I had been following Christine’s In Death Challenge this past few weeks and to tell you the truth it had been a great journey exploring the series from the very beginning both a pleasure and a learning experience for me. I have learned that J.D. Robb also known as Norah Roberts is not only superior in delivering a story full of love, suspenseful murders, steamy romance, promising futuristic police investigations but also an author with the power of word(s) breathing through the reader’s mind. It is Robb’s superior choice of words that makes the impossible believable allowing the readers to live the world of fiction – even temporarily.

Vengeance in Death is by far the best novel in the series and a favorite of mine. Thank you J.D. Robb.

Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force

*      *      *      *      *

The story is about Susannah and Ryan. Susannah married to a football superstar Ryan Sanderson has finally decided to give up on Ryan and move on as she is sick of playing second fiddle to his team, watching women throwing themselves at him, and living in terror of the hard hits he took on the field. With their divorce just days from being final, she’s already planning a wedding with her new fiancĂ©. On the other hand Ryan has finally figured out what’s really important to him. He has just ten days to convince his soon-to-be ex-wife to give him a second chance. He has just brought home his third championship and his career is at its pinnacle, but during the year of their separation, Ryan’s come to realize it doesn’t mean anything at all without Susannah.

Upon reading the synopsis and finding out the five stars it gathered from Amazon I was a bit hesitant to read this novel because I thought the story is focused in sports and that the romance between Susannah and Ryan would gear toward Ryan playing football. I was wrong because the story is more than just sports – the story is about Ryan taking his chances of winning back the love of his life. Both main characters in the story are fully developed enough to get to know them and feel the whirlwind of passion, enough to feel the need to read more and more of their struggles and heartaches, worthy enough to finish the novel while absorbing a happy ending story.

Marie Force is a first for me and her work created a remarkable impression an author I will surely follow and seek for more of her previous novels as well as in the future to come.

Just One of the Guys by Kristan Higgins

*      *      *      *      *

JUST ONE OF THE GUYS is a contemporary romance about love, the value of family and friends, and passion for pets. Chastity O’Neill – a journalist returns to her hometown and determines to find the love of her life but was torn choosing between her first love Trevor Meade who see Chastity as anything more than just one of the guys and her current boyfriend Dr. Perfect, the better Trevor looks. The story is told in first POV.

Let me just say this out loud before I begin talking about this wonderful piece of writing – I am in loved with this novel, a first for me on this author. There are so many magnets glued all over the pages they pull me right into the mind and heart of each character.

What I like about:

The opening is so captivating I want more. More of the “I THINK WE SHOULD STOP SEEING each other” devastating yet sympathetic in your face kind of line. It arouses my curiosity as what could happen next while caught off guard and unprepared. Chastity’s reactions are so believable, filled with pity and at the same time loads of humor. From the beginning ‘till end the writing is humble yet laughable - more showing than telling I wanted to give Higgins a hug. One that prints to mind is how vivid Higgins painted Chastity’s fear for blood– that moment by moment detail on how she panics with just the idea of the “bl-red stuff” line she utters so quickly I burst into laughter I had to pause for a second. Then there’s the description of Trevor’s black eyes – compared to a molten chocolate I quickly remember how I take pleasure in that molten chocolate cake I once had – so tasty so yummy mouth watering flavor.

But as hilarious as it may sound I discover more to the story than just having fun with Chastity. There is so much love in the air very refreshing dialogues – first love that seems to be unreciprocated, a love is not enough relationship between couple, friendship old and new, relationship with the family, then there is also the love for an ugly looking yet lovable big ear dog. Out of the blue, tears start trickling down – now there is the DRAMA. I love drama – I am a drama queen (I think). I cry for Mike – Chastity’s father feeling devastated. It breaks my heart hearing Chastity and Trevor fight – yes I read but at the same time I can hear the miserable words. Then there’s the tears when the engagement was broken up (you’ll have to read which engagement that is for) and another tears when Mike apologizes to Betty (his ex-wife, Chastity’s mother). It wasn’t enough, I had to cry for the last time (whew) witnessing the “I can’t live without you another minute” part at the end. Yes, yes there is a happy ending after all.

Here’s one thing that makes this novel a gem – it breaks my heart into pieces then like a puzzle it puts me back into one whole piece of heart.

So anything else I should know about Higgins before I dive in to THE NEXT BEST THING and get all lovey-dovey once again? Should I get more tissues for the next batch of tears?

Practice Makes Perfect by Julie James and Something About You Entry

Summary

Payton Kendall and J.D. Jameson are lawyers who know the meaning of objection. A feminist to the bone, Payton has fought hard to succeed in a profession dominated by men. Born wealthy, privileged, and cocky, J.D. has fought hard to ignore her. Face-to-face, they’re perfectly civil. They have to be. For eight years they have kept a safe distance and tolerated each other as coworkers for one reason only: to make partner at the firm. But all bets are off when they’re asked to join forces on a major case. Though apprehensive at first, they begin to appreciate each other’s dedication to the law – and the sparks between them quickly turn into attraction. But the increasingly hot connection does not last long when they discover that only one of them will be named partner. Now it’s an all-out war. And the battle of the sexes is bound to make these lawyers hot under the collar…

Follow up

This is a first for me with Julie James’ novels and I must say I was never disappointed from start to finish because of several reasons. The author stayed to its original plot all way through the story throwing fresh ideas while keeping ambition to make partner at the firm between the two main lawyers as the main focus of the story– Payton and J.D. goes through interesting yet entertaining battles just to prove who is best amongst each other. In truth opposites attracts each other where they come from opposite backgrounds – they are like cats and dogs fighting for years of law practices. The story reminds me of the movie “Laws of Attraction” played by Pierce Brosnan and Juianne Moore only this novel has better appeal and humor written all over it. There are many flirty dialogues they share with each other that add vital spices to the already heating romance between them; I keep on thinking what would happen to the relationship they unintentionally built for eight years after the partnership news is revealed. And I - being a fan of topic about lawyers makes it even more exciting as I never thought I would finish a novel in one night and still manages to get few hours of sleep. This novel is an easy read - a first for me and will never be the last as I am heading back to the store to get her debut romance novel.

Julie James' Something About You is soon to be released which I look forward for in just few weeks. Here's an excerpt from the site:

FATE HAS THROWN TWO SWORN ENEMIES. . .

Of all the hotel rooms rented by all the adulterous politicians in Chicago, female Assistant U.S. Attorney Cameron Lynde had to choose the one next to 1308, where some hot-and-heavy lovemaking ends in bloodshed. And of all the FBI agents in Illinois, it had to be Special Agent Jack Pallas who gets assigned to this high-profile homicide. The same Jack Pallas who still blames Cameron for a botched crackdown three years ago—and nearly ruining his career…

 . . .INTO EACH OTHER’S ARMS

Work with Cameron Lynde? Are they kidding? Maybe, Jack thinks, this is some kind of welcome-back prank after his stint away from Chicago. But it’s no joke: the pair is going to have to put their rocky past behind them and focus on the case at hand. That is, if they can cut back on the razor-sharp jibes—and smother the flame of their sizzling-hot sexual tension…
